What is boudoir photography?

The term boudoir photography suggests many different things - but mainly the idea of women wearing sexy underwear or in the nude.  Boudoir photography is often sold as a makeover experience where women are styled and made-up to look like an 'improved' version of themselves, however my philosophy is different.  It's not about having a fancy hairstyle or more make-up than usual - although obviously that can sometimes be part of it - I think that a woman's beauty comes from within.

The philosophy

I like to photograph women wearing underwear, wrapped in lovely material, surrounded by petals - or naked - but the important thing is that she's having fun and feeling beautiful.  My goal is to capture her inner beauty, to thoroughly enjoy the experience of being photographed and to love the outcome.

The shoot

A boudoir shoot is designed to bring out a woman's inner beauty and give her that extra bit of confidence - along with a selection of gorgeous professional photographs for herself or a loved one. As an experienced portrait photographer (and a woman herself), Lis knows how women feel and understands how to put them at their ease to bring out their inner siren.  The shoot can take place either in your own home or at a beautiful Cotswold hotel location.  Contact Lis to make a booking.
